About This Event
For the past 30 years, Christmas at Canada Place has been one of Vancouver’s favourite free holiday traditions, bringing families and communities together to celebrate the festive season. Over the course of four weeks, the public is invited to experience the nostalgic tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a magical holiday lighting display, the Sails of Light, and the festive Avenue of Trees.
In 2018, over 175,000 visitors attended Christmas at Canada Place. As one of the only holiday venues open on both Christmas Day and New Years Day, Canada Place drew in over 12,000 attendees on these dates.
The Woodward’s Windows are a treasured part of Vancouver’s history. Originally displayed in the popular Woodward’s department store, the windows feature classic holiday scenes with animatronic characters and elaborate decor.
Avenue of Trees
The Canadian Trail along the outdoor promenade at Canada Place will be transformed into a holiday wonderland. Guests can stroll the outdoor promenade enjoying beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lights by professional design firm, Chris J Designs.
Canada’s North light display
Enjoy a magical holiday experience at Canada’s North light display at Canada Place’s North Point. The display features a 15-foot illuminated moose figure named Chrismoose to properly capture the Canadian holiday spirit.
Sails of Light at Canada Place
The wintery night sky will be illuminated by the Sails of Light at Canada Place when the iconic white sails come alive with Christmas inspired colours and designs.
