About This Event

The Rattlesnake Festival is a 53-year-old, two-day, family-friendly event based around education about and the ecological awareness of the rattlesnake and the gopher tortoise as well as other Florida wildlife. The festival is not a round-up and no wildlife is harmed or abused. In addition to educational presentations, the festival features an arts and crafts village with opportunities for business and non-profit displays; food and refreshment vendors; live entertainment; wooden gopher tortoise races; bounce houses, fair rides, and other children's entertainment, and a Subaru Road Rally. Parking is free. Admission is $5. Admission allows unlimited access to educational presentations, live entertainment, bounce houses, and the road rally. Food vendors have an extra evening during a pre-festival Bellamy Brothers concert Friday evening. All proceeds from the Rattlesnake Festival go to support the Thomas Promise Foundation that provides food-insecure children in Pasco County with bags packed with six meals and snacks for over the weekend when they do not have access to school breakfast and lunch programs.
